Was browsing Craigslist (at work) and saw this minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/pts/4565951908.html
$300 for brand new x wings is an amazing deal! I don't know the seller but thought I would pass this along. I already have All Pro sliders or I would have already bought these

Umm...I don't think it was Vikesfan. He was out in Orono. Super cool guy, I didn't get to see his FJ though because it was in the garage. I picked up bolts today because he didn't have them (dang it's hard to find those 10.9 rated bolts, I hope to find more at a different Home Depot on my way home!) I will have them on tonight or tomorrow and take pics.

Good deal Rooooo. Yes, It's difficult to find 10.9 metric size bolts with any decent variety of sizes. I'm surprised you found bolts at Home Depot. I've had zero luck finding 10.9 metric bolts there in the sizes I've been looking for. I still have the best luck at local hardware stores. Anxious to see pics.

So..... I don't think these sliders were intended for an FJ. The brackets don't line up at all. I got out the set of factory sliders I have to compare and they are nowhere close. Should I have them welded on? New holes drilled? Ugh. The sliders are super cool but I'm really perturbed that they aren't for an FJ. What would you guys do?

The length looks perfect... If I can figure out a way to mount them!

I actually found the M8 1.35 x 35mm grade 10.9 bolts, washers, and lock washers at Home Depot after trying hardware hank in Eagan first. I did have to go to 2 locations to get all 16.

Man that's a tough one, i would be pissed, I'm pissed for you! Seems odd the guy would advertise them as "FJ" sliders...and wouldn't want to show off his FJ. You could probably get your $ back, false advertising, but its such a good deal... I would maybe post over in the "big" forum and see what kind of feedback you get on welding or??? I think they make them for tacos and 4runners too so they could be for one of those

Yeah I was over on the forum looking around... It seems they go back and forth about welding them..... And yeah, in hindsight, maybe it was fishy. I honestly don't know why he'd say they are for an fj. Problem is.... I'm not quite sure what they are for! I can't find specs anywhere about bracket placement for different vehicles. So..... Yeah. I'm just not sure what to do. It seems some guys are against welding because if the bars get wrecked it's very hard to replace them.... But others are for welding, because it's stronger.
I really should have studied bracket placement better before buying. These do have brackets that make an "L" shape to wrap under the frame. I read for other vehicles, that is for even better welds.

Okay. More thought into this: What if I get some steel long enough to reach all the factory pre-drilled holes in my frame, and drill holes in it to match the holes on my FJ, then weld that to each slider...then bolt them on?

Sorry for not answering sooner...they are pretty okay getting in and out. I have short legs, so of course I hit them, but I'm used to it now. I like them a lot!
