Got a new windshield installed yesterday, what a difference! I couldn't even see the new one, if that makes sense. Pretty sure the old one was original, seven years old.

Who did you have replace it? I have a rock chip that is starting to spider crack in mine. I've read on the other site about all the problems that people have had getting a new one installed because their insurance company or installation company didn't know that they needed a new gasket and clips.

I had Harmon in Hopkins do it. I know they used a OEM Toyota top molding, not sure about the gasket and clips.
The tech mentioned they had tried aftermarket moldings in the past but had poor results so they always use Toyota now. The glass is not OEM however. There is a note on the invoice about them getting approval from the insurance company for an OEM molding.

Well I have All Auto Glass coming next Tuesday. It was nice to hear them say that they have changed out FJ windshields in the past and they are going to order the molding and clips.
